Our Story

A local sandwich shop became a pivotal decision point for the ministry of Crosspoint Church. Pastor Jerry observed many people coming into that shop after midnight during what is called a bar rush on Main Street in De Pere. He shortly discovered 12 to 14 bars within a mile stretch. It is not the bars in and of themselves, but the drunkenness, perversion, sin, broken lives, and broken families that come with them.

Pastor Jerry has always had a heart for outreach. God put it on his heart to start an outreach centered church in August 2006. Crosspoint Church started in rental facilities available only 3 hours on Sunday’s. The church desperately needed to find a location that could facilitate prayer, youth meetings and offices seven days a week. After observing these late night scenes, Pastor Jerry and another man from the congregation walked up and down Main Street to locate a potential location. Pastor Jerry went back to the congregation and asked if they would support such an approach. They decided unanimously to lease the current property at 339 Main Street.

Therefore, we exist intentionally on Main Street. Many churches exist in their own buildings and get caught up only taking care of themselves. We do strive to take care of our own people well. However because of our location, our congregation cannot escape the silent but pulsating call of outreach. As the people of Crosspoint stand in the main auditorium and look out the window, a bar stares you in the face. God has called us to be light in the darkness! We challenge you to come and take the risk of turning from a self focus to an outreach focus!
